Shoes
Vivian likes to steal my shoes. Sometime I want to save up the money to do a professional photo shoot and have one of her in my shoes. There are some really cute shots like that on Pinterest.
She can even walk in them! I can barely walk in them

The Water Table #2
It is so hot! We went to the pool yesterday but I just didn't feel like dealing with it after a very long day today. So, we pulled out the water table to give it another try.
She took this one herself. She's so artistic.
Just chilling. Eating a taquito and salad like a big girl. (She stole my salad. True story.)

Those Faces
The "Mommy won't let me wear her fancy dresses while I eat spaghetti" face
The "Mommy gave me an Oreo" face
The "It took me 45 minutes to eat one Oreo"
Seriously. Who can take 45 minutes to eat an Oreo?

Hair bow
I'm working on getting Vivian used to wearing bows/barrettes. Now that her hair is growing out soon enough she's going to need her bangs pulled back until they grow out.
Her response when I asked her to say hi
She she pulled an Aunti Cait and became inquisitive

More Bedtime Shenanigans
So, we are still sleep training. Naps are basically fixed. Bedtime routine is significantly easier but not without some frustration. Now we are just working on sleeping through the night again. She's doing better though. Last night she woke up but I didn't have to go in her room. I hate saying these things because tonight will likely be wretched but in general she's making progress. The easiest way to tell is she wakes up in a good mood and is mostly tantrum free (for a toddler.)
Last night my newest idea was to let her put on of her animals to bed. Of course I chose Sully. Mostly because her clothes were the most likely to fit him. She picked out a nightgown and PJ pants for him to wear. Tonight he's wearing a monkey shirt. I put a blanket over her then over him as well.

Back in the Saddle
We are all unpacked but I still feel like I'm figuring out our new routine. I need to find a better place to keep the camera because I never seem to have it handy. I'm going to try to start posting at least three times a week again. We are also working on getting sleep and bedtime back in order so hopefully I will start feeling like myself again soon.

On Another Note
One of my top five favorite books came out in paperback today. It's The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. It's one of those books that just sticks with you long after you finish. The main character are in high school, but don't let that fool you. This book can speak to various ages. Several people in my office have read it and that've all loved it. I'm getting ready to read it for the fourth time. It's just a beautifully written story. I recommend it.

Zoo
Today Vivian and I went to the zoo with a law school friend and her adorable daughter. I think the girls met once or twice before but it has been quite awhile. They were best buddies right away! They held hands while they were walking around and they would randomly hug each other. Of course, Vivian, being the older of the two, was a little bossy and dragging poor Cate around where Vivian wanted to go. But Cate didn't seem to mind. I missed a picture of the hugs but the hand-holding is cute.
We went early in the morning so the animals were very active. Apparently first thing in the morning is the best time to go to a zoo. I can't believe a kangaroo let her get this close!! I wanted to run and grab her in case the kangaroo kicked her or something but I didn't want to startle the thing. Happily they just checked each other out then the kangaroo hopped away.
She did this herself
She insisted that her hood "hat" always be on her head. She was not happy with my for not bringing a hat for myself.
