Before and After

Vivian's reflux has made it difficult for her to sleep laying flat on her back. For the first month I slept in a rocking chair hoping she would eventually sleep in her crib. We finally broke down and bought a Rock n Play bassinet. It was a life saver! She loved the thing and would finally let me sleep in my bed again. For the last month or so she hasn't been sleeping as well in it. Whenever she would slightly wake up she would start trying to sit up and wake herself up completely and we would then have to try to get her back down. So, we sadly decided it was time to move her to the crib.

We have her mattress at a slight incline to help keep the acid down. We also let her sleep on her tummy. This was a big debate for us since it's recommended that babies sleep on their backs for the first year. But Vivian is strong enough the lift her head and move it around as needed. She also is able to scootch. She can go a full 360 degrees during the course of a night. It's pretty funny to watch her. This kind of defeats the purpose of the incline but it's still cute.

Anyhoo, here are some comparison pictures in the good old Rock n Play. At five months and maybe 6 weeks.
