Not a Paid Endorsement

For Christmas I received a Learning Tower. Vivian loves standing at the counters while I'm cooking but I don't feel safe standing her on a chair or sitting her on the counter (she's a wiggly one.) The tower has sides to keep her from falling off but it has openings so (once she gets a little older) she can climb into it herself.

She and I love this tower!! I like it because she's kind of trapped so I can walk around the kitchen without worrying about her. She asks to stand on it frequently so she can eat a snack or wash hands, or play in drawers. It makes her so content to be in this thing. Best present ever. However, I would say that you need to have a fairly wide kitchen because this is not a small item by any means.

Christmas (day three)

Another busy day. First, she practiced being a baseball player in a card helmet.

What?

Just playing with my trains, nothing to see here

Then she practiced being Santa's helper

Then she got lost in the Santa hat

Then she took a cowboy style nap

Then she hung out with her elf

Home for Christmas (Day 1)

Vivian is rocking her purple skinny jeans along with her Uggs and a new jacket from Grammy and Granda. It matches the jeans perfectly.

And a matching hat

Then she helped Grammy haul wood for the fire

Foiled Agin

I had a really cute outfit planned for today's post. She looked like a chic little skier girl ready to hang out at the base of the mountain with a hot chocolate. Instead I ended up with this:

She has figured out my super secret ipad case. So, I actually had my new toy to myself for five whole days. I guess that's something. She's eating homemade chex mix right out of the tupperware because that's the way she likes it now. And her outfit is an Avengers shirt and sweat pants. Doesn't sound like something she would wear in Aspen? Well...

At daycare Vivian found an unopened bag of sugar. She then managed to open the bag and start eating the sugar - thus getting it all over her face and clothing. And she managed to do this in the 30 seconds it took for her provider to change another kid's diaper. My child is truly a juggernaut of destruction.

Cooking

Tonight Vivian helped me make taquitos. Mostly she just ate shredded cheese and a tortilla. She had fun though. Putting her on the chair makes me so nervous though!

Toddlerhood

Vivian has reached the pocky toddler eating phase.  Today she decided that it was completely reasonable to require four different bowls for her snack. And I was not allow to put it in the bowls. I had to hold out my hand and she would put each piece individually in each bowl it seemed to belong in. She also had to approach each bowl from a different direction. Fun times.

She's also drinking from big girl cups. We are phasing out sipppy cups entirely. The sippy straws seem really hard to drink from so we are just trying these tumblers. They spill a little but not too bad. Now to stock up on these!

Christmas! (part 1)

We celebrated the Weber family Christmas today.Vivian had lots of fun playing with her new toys.

First, we went out to breakfast together. She was very well behaved and had fun watching the other people and looking out the window.

Yep, this is actually a kids' plate! She mostly just ate the pancakes and bacon.

Then she figured out how to climb out of a high chair.

Then she opened presents.

And wore a bow

And tried to get to mommy's new iPad mini! Not hers though... it's mine!

Long Day

Today was a very very very long day. Vivian woke up at 4:30 ready to start the day. That's very early for those of you who haven't seen 4:30 in awhile. So, we lounged and watched Sesame Street while I tried to force her to either lay still or go back to sleep. Obviously neither happened.

We played with the camera for awhile.

Then she got into some cabinets.

Tonight she was in just a very bad mood because she was still sleepy from not getting enough sleep last night. I let her help me make cookies for my office's Christmas party. Actually I just let her use the utensils after I used them so she didn't contaminate what other people had to eat. Happily (for her) and unfortunately (for me) she discovered the joy of powdered sugar. This kids was eating it by the spoonful then when I took away her spoon she used her hands!

The sugar high (she made this face all on her own - promise)

Then the sugar crash when I took it away. I made her eat fruit for dinner.

Hipster

Aunti Caiti has turned Vivian into a little hipster. She tried to convince me for months to buy these jeans for her then she finally sweet talked grammy into it. So, Vivian has purple skinny jeans. They are adorable!

Close up of her new shoes. She refuses to take them off until it's bedtime. They are the only ones she keeps on all day at daycare.

Big girl cup!

For some reason this kid loves shredded cheese. I really don't understand it because she can typically only eat one or two strands at a time. Sadly (for my floors) she sometimes tries to get more and then mushes cheese with her shoes.

I'm going to try to keep posting regularly. But thinks are just busy over the next few weeks so bear with me.
