I've decided to make the best of Vivian's lack of hair. Now instead of saying she just has now hair I say she has the Mia Farrow cut. Kind of looks like it in this pic.

An interior monologue

Dear Diary, today started fairly well. I got ready to go to school. It's very cold out so I got to wear my warm coat. I looked very posh. I got to play wedding with some other kids... always a bridesmaid, never a bride am I right? Then mommy picked me up and...

TRAGEDY!! She would only let me have one cheese stick! WHY MOMMY?! I can't live on only one cheese stick!

Then I turned my back on her hoping my shunning would make her feel guilty and give me another stick.

It didn't work! I must have another one before I can finish my first one I know I will still be hungry! Why mommy, why?

Busy Saturday

Vivian has become such a little mimic. The other day she pulled her backpack over her shoulder and walked to the garage door expecting to go out for the day apparently. Later that day she pushed her laundry basket from her room all the way to the basement gate to do some laundry. It definitely makes me more aware of my actions and I'm working on my bad habits to be a better example. 

She also likes walking with her purse. She has a hard time keeping it on her shoulder so whatever hand has her purse can't be used for anything else. 

This afternoon she and I went to Pottery Barn Kids to check out their Vivian/Vivienne doll for a possible Christmas present. It's kind of pricy so I wanted to let her see the dolls before we bought it. She loves it! I'm going to have such a hard time waiting for Christmas. She played with the doll and the stroller for quite awhile. (yes, that is a tulle bed skirt behind her. Oh, PBK)

Mommy Baby Day

I had the day off work today so we had a fun mommy baby day. Well, it ended up being fun, it didn't start out that way. Poor Vivian just can't get well. It started with Hand Foot Mouth, then an unending cold, then teething, then pink eye, then massive massive vomiting on Friday and now back to a whiny cold. But, the vomiting, seriously, I thought she was possessed or something. 

She also can't seem to get her wake up time fixed from daylight savings time. She's still waking up between 5-5:30 most days which really throws her off. So, this morning started at 5:08 and she couldn't come back from it. She was just in a mood all morning. She took a nap that took her longer to fall asleep than the actual nap lasted. That just put her in a worse mood. Happily, we made a Target run and that seemed to bring her out of the funk. Who doesn't love Target?!

This morning she tried to dress herself. Apparently she loves this Splendid dress so she wore it as a scarf/necklace. She also built that block tower all by herself!

This weekend she got a black eye on the top of her eye. Poor kid knocked into the edge of a table.

Then she practiced climbing. Apparently we need to move her little chair!

This afternoon I decided we should make cookies. Vivian loves helping me in the kitchen. However, I'm really looking forward to (hopefully) getting a learning tower. I'm not comfortable standing her on a chair since she's already fallen off twice. And sitting her on the counter makes me nervous because she likes to lean over to look at things. She ended up sitting on the counter but I was pretty paranoid the whole time. She figured out how to turn the mixer off and on and she had a lot of fun pouring ingredients into the bowl. It was slow going because she wanted to use a teaspoon on the flour but we didn't have any other plans this afternoon.

Then I let her help scoop them onto the pan. I think next time I might use Egg Beaters or something so I don't have to worry as much about her eating raw eggs. I only let her help with one batch because of that. She had a lot of fun though! They aren't particularly pretty but they were tasty.

Out for a bit

Sorry, there won't be any new pictures for awhile. Vivian is sick and I'm exhausted. I entertain yourself go read through the posts from this time last year to see how much she has changed.

Chocoholic

I think Vivian might have a bigger sweet tooth than Victor and I put together. She got a hold of a mini-Hersey bar leftover from Halloween. She somehow managed to chew through the wrapping and was sucking out the melted chocolate by the time I realized what she had done. This is the result.

Oh, and poor kid has pink eye.

15 Month Checkup

Today Vivian had her fifteen month checkup. Poor kid had four shots but she was a champ! She shot up two inches so she's now a little over 30 inches tall. But that's only 40% which seems low because she just looks so tall to me. She gained a little over a pound. The doctor was happy with all her development. 

She's figured out how to shut doors so this morning she had fun shutting me out then laughing when I would reopen it.

Then she tried to dress herself in my tank top.

I kept her entertained at the doctor's office by letting her go through my purse. That's not happening again I can tell you that much.
