Busy Day

Vivian had a very busy day today. Before heading to school she sat outside and enjoyed the morning while reading a very important book.

Then she spent some time trying her best to climb up on the chair without falling on the ground.

Then she practiced walking some more.

And more walking. She loves Jelly Cat (yes, we named the cat the brand... I never said I was creative) so much! The only way she will walk one handed is if she is holding him.

She also loves to eat him. I think it disturbs the kitties that she does this to JC while staring at them and then crawling toward them as fast as her little arms will carry her.

She's running around naked because she refuses to wear her bib while eating dinner. I'll put it back on her a few times but eventually I give up and let her eat without it. It's not really worth the fight at this point.

Flapper Girl

This isn't a full post because I've been receiving complaints about not posting. Just pictures today. That's all anyone really cares about anyway.

P.S. - in case anyone was wondering, we decided to wait on the playhouse for awhile. I think we might get her a Little People something or other. But I think the best present would be books. Lots and lots and lots of books (any the anywhere chair from grammy and grampa.) We decided not to tell anyone what they can and cannot get her (not that anyone needs to get her anything!!) but I'd strongly encourage books.

Birthday list

Vivian is turning one soon! Nobody needs to get her a present. She won't know the difference - she's only turning one. It really doesn't matter to me either way.  At all.

But, if anyone wants to get her something and wants some ideas, here are a few things. First, BOOKS!!! Lots and lots of books. Board books, longish books, lift the flap books (though she usually just tears off the flap and tries to eat it). Any books.

We are thinking about getting her some sort of little playhouse. I've been eying the Melissa and Doug foods to go in her little house. I've heard to hold up really well and are fun to cut in half. I'm trying to stay away from things requiring batteries as much as possible.

Melissa and Doug Three Little Pigs

xylophone

An xylophone would be fun too. She likes hitting things.

That's all I can think of for now. Just some ideas. If you were wondering.

Green machine

Ok, I have a new favorite clothing brand (the former being Tea) now I love Peek. This dress is the softest ever! I wish they made grown up clothes for real yo. I also love the mini adirondack chair for pictures because she likes it but it also kind of traps her so I can attempt to get more than one picture. Though she still refuses to look at the camera most of the time.

Welcome to the gun show!

Happy Father's Day

Vivian had a very busy father's day. First, she practiced her computer programming skills so she can become a child prodigy and keep her mommy rolling in Petunia Pickle Bottom bags.

Mom, seriously, I'm working here. Leave me alone.

Then she went grocery shopping with mommy's reusable grocery bags. The umbrella is part of her super cute new PB adirondack chair.

Then she sat and read a book in her chair. So cute!

Anchors away

Yes, she's wearing pink shoes with a red dress... supposedly she picked them out herself. Not sure I believe that

Cherries

Today we have another cute smocked outfit. This one cracks me up because the ruffles stick out so far!!

She looks really happy in this picture - actually she is screaming because she wants me to carry her around instead of taking pictures.

I think she looks super nuts in this picture but it's the only full body shot I could get. Just ignore the weird look on her face. She was in the middle of a shouting spell.

Back of the outfit.

What do you mean 5:30 isn't a normal time to wake up in the morning? You're crazy mama.

Mommy daughter weekend

This weekend was just Vivian and I. I was a little worried that she would be a holy terror but she was really great!! I had a fantastic time just to two of us - of course we did miss Victor and all that. I just had to  plan some type of activity for every awake period. Lots of swimming, errands, walking to the farmer's market. Ready for Victor to get back and help in the mornings though! Those 5:30 am wake ups are killer. I'm exhausted!!

Here's Vivian on our way to walk to the market. She loves going and people watching. Such a little Caitlin/Nana.

I love this one.

We bought blackberries and raspberries. Her favorites. I will now interpret for you:

"Oh you thought I would keep clean? HA!! Why would I do that? You clean everything up for me. What's the point in trying to be clean. You are a funny mommy."

"You know I love you right? I was just playing."

"Gotcha!"

I also have a video to add in a few days. It's pretty funny. Now she's asleep and I'm watching a Bridezillas marathon. Almost every commercial break has a commercial for this new frozen drink mix. I really want one. Now.

Ruffle butt

These underdrawers crack me up. They are so ruffly they make her dress stick out like an old-fashioned gig. I pulled it up so you could see the drawers.

I can't decide if this picture is cute or if she looks like she is insane. She likes to play with her teeth, apparently.

Smocking!

Today we have another cute smocked top. I didn't get any great pictures of the front but I got a cute one of her tushie!

10 month outtakes

These are just some pictures I thought were cute but they don't have the 10 month sign so I don't count them as month pictures.

Teeth!

Ready for her own chair so I don't always have to sit and make sure she doesn't fall off my chair!

10 months!

Vivian turned ten months old on Friday! She's such a big girl. She loves to feed herself and it trying to learn how to feed herself with a spoon. She is starting to make more consonant sounds but she's just not a big talker. She likes to either watch people or get into everything just depending on her mood. She's getting better grabbing with just her thumb and forefinger and trying to kind of stand on her own. It's just for a second or two but she's trying.

This month was the complete opposite of the past few months... instead of trying to keep her from eating the month sign I couldn't keep her near it! So, this month's pictures are a lesson in creative positioning.  She also tries not to look at the camera if she can help it.

Note the sign behind her. It counts!

Eating her Toms shoe from Aunti Caiti. The dress is also from Aunti. So cute and comfy. Another dress I would totally wear if they made it in my size.

On our way to the farmer's market. She loves her Toms.  You can still see the sign so I'm counting it.

I've learned she has trouble sitting down from this foot rest so I trapped her for some pictures.

This is her new favorite game. She climbs up on the chair then tries to grab everything on the table.  And she jumps on the chair.  Don't worry, I always sit at the edge of the chair so she doesn't fall off.

She's never been one for a pacifier but she's started using it as a toy. And she keeps it at the side of her mouth like a cigar. She's an odd duck
