Before and After

Vivian's reflux has made it difficult for her to sleep laying flat on her back. For the first month I slept in a rocking chair hoping she would eventually sleep in her crib. We finally broke down and bought a Rock n Play bassinet. It was a life saver! She loved the thing and would finally let me sleep in my bed again. For the last month or so she hasn't been sleeping as well in it. Whenever she would slightly wake up she would start trying to sit up and wake herself up completely and we would then have to try to get her back down. So, we sadly decided it was time to move her to the crib.

We have her mattress at a slight incline to help keep the acid down. We also let her sleep on her tummy. This was a big debate for us since it's recommended that babies sleep on their backs for the first year. But Vivian is strong enough the lift her head and move it around as needed. She also is able to scootch. She can go a full 360 degrees during the course of a night. It's pretty funny to watch her. This kind of defeats the purpose of the incline but it's still cute.

Anyhoo, here are some comparison pictures in the good old Rock n Play. At five months and maybe 6 weeks.

Pink Corduroy

Is there anything cuter than a pink corduroy jumper? How about a pink corduroy jumper with a little mouse on the pocket and matching pink mouse shoes? A friend has two adorable daughters older than Little V. Luckily for Vivian she received some adorable clothes last week. This morning I was in charge of dressing V so I decided she needed to wear corduroy. It's the cutest outfit ever! I think she is going to wear the shoes everyday.

Sorry most of her poses are the same as the last post. I take her pictures really quickly in the mornings before I leave for work so I tend to just plop her down in her room or on my bed so there's not going to be much variety in the foreseeable future. But, I figure taking any pictures is better than taking very few that happen to have different backgrounds. And now for the adorable outfit...

Does anyone else think she looked EXACTLY like Victor from the eyes up in this one. He swears she doesn't but I think she looks more like him in this shot than in any other I have taken.

Jeans Day

On Monday Vivian wore her new denim jumper from Gap and little baby tube socks. She looked so cute! It was kind of hard to get good pictures because the dress likes to scrunch up and show her little matching diaper cover.

Not smiling but a good outfit shot.

Darth Vivian

Vivian has a blanket that she is obsessed with. It's silky on one side and fuzzy on the other. Anytime we give it to her she loves to rub it all over her face. She just recently started this with other things as well, mostly her crab toy, stuffy cat, and a cloth book that she has. It's funny to watch her with any of these items because she tries to eat them anytime they are near her! The pink blanket is by far her favorite though. Probably because it is so soft and cozy. She loves to be wrapped up in it. And then she becomes... Darth Vivian!

I think this one is adorable. You can see how much she loves her blanket.

I swear she did this to herself

New Outfit

One of my good friends has two darling little girls a year and three years older than Vivian. Happily this means Vivian just received some cute new outfits that don't fit the girls any longer! This is one of my favorite outfits. For some reason I think the little pink buttons on the leggings are adorable.

Waiting for mommy and daddy to get ready for work.

Showing off her new skill... sitting up!

Sweet potatoes

They are so tasty...

5 months

Little V is five months old today. She's such a big girl! On Thursday we moved her into her crib and it seems to be going fairly well. She is only waking up once a night now which is much better than once an hour! She is able to scootch around on her tummy, mostly just going in circles but she is starting to move forward a little. Her snail toy really makes her try to move forward to it. She loves her grab her crab and tonight she turned 90 degrees to be able to reach it.

She loves sucking on her hands. Every time I put my camera up to take a picture she would suck on her hands. Then when I put it down she would take them away from her face. She's a tricky baby.

And she loves her feet too!!

She so close to sitting up on her own. Now she can only do it for 5-10 seconds but she's getting better everyday.
